To be equipped with knowledge about HIV/Aids, STI's, risk behaviors and communication skills to facilitate peer sessions.

We have good number of trained peer educators.

CAPACITY BUILDING ON EFFECTIVE ORGANISATION/OFFICE MANAGEMENT, REPORT/PROPOSAL WRITING by SFH Nigeria and Action Aids International Nigeria in Port Harcourt

10 MEMBERS. APRIL 2007

We need to be equipped and trained on how to effectively manage an organization (CBO, NGO), write reports and proposals.

Has helped us run and manage our organization. Since after the training, we can now write report and proposals as well as developed work Action plan.

PARTICIPATORY, MONITORY AND EVALUATION. (P.M &E) by SFH in Port Harcourt

To help us monitor and evaluate impact on activities, measure outputs and identify gaps for subsequent intervention and activity.

Trained P.E's can effectively facilitate PM&E sessions.

It has also helped us to monitor our impacts and plan subsequent activities.

INTER-PERSONAL COMMUNICATION,FAMILY PLANNING, MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH, HIV, MALERIA&SAFE WATER SYSTEM.(IPC,FP,MCH,HIV,M&SWS) ( SFH Port Harcourt)

To help us communicate FP, Malaria & HIV effectively to our target group and improve our understanding on these areas.

Has helped us in communicating our understanding on these areas to community members & help make our IPC's and FGD's effectively.

HIV COUNSELLING ANDTESTING. (HCT) TRAINING organized by SFH Nigeria, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHV-N) and AIDS Care and Treatment In One Nigeria (ACTION) in Benin City, Edo State.

To build our capacity on counseling and testing skill in the area of HIV.

To help RYOPH conduct HCT regularly at our site/community level.

To monitor the number of people infected and impact of our activities.

Has strengthened our credibility before other partners.

Has increase the number of resource persons.

We also leant to maintain results confidentially.

CONTRACEPTIVE TECHNOLOGY SFH Nigeria in Port Harcourt

It would broaden our understanding on communicating the use of contraceptives.

The training helped improved our understanding of the effectiveness of contraceptives.

To help RYOPH build and develop her skill as a CSO's in advocacy skill to enable her influence and persuade policy and decision makers to taking necessary actions concerning the people.

Have increase RYOPH advocacy skills and lobbying techniques thereby enhancing the out-put of her advocacy.

WORKSHOP ON GENDER MAINSTREAMING AS A TEST FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE by UNFPA in Port Harcourt

To improve the organization interest and response to gender issues, actively involve men and women in policy and decision making at both organizational and society level

The workshop helped us design programs that encourage increased female participation in all our activities.

UNDP ANNUAL PROGRESS REVIEW FOR STATE PROGRAM COMMITTEE IN RIVER STATE . in Port Harcourt

RYOPH needed to be part of UNDP's annual program, to enable her contribute and also learn how to review progress from other NGO's contribution.

STAKE HOLDERS MEETING ON REVIEW OF SACA STATE WORK PLAN FOR 2008 in Port Harcourt ,

As stake holders on the fight, RYOPH contribution on review of state SACA work plan is needed as it will improve the out come of the meeting and increase her sense of belonging in decision making at state level.

Gives us sense of recognition at the state level.
